What Miley Cyrus Should Learn From Britney Spears
05.06.08 (3:39 pm)   [edit]

Moms are once again on the hot seat. People want their opinion about the latest tween to become entangled in a drama that she asked for. Bloggers, media people and those who are just curious to know are all asking poor moms one question. Is she out of the list?

After Zoey 101’s tween lead’s pregnancy, even High School Musical main cast’s suggestive photos on the Internet, comes the latest addition. Miley Cyrus’ camp is now doing everything, even availing rush printing services , to mend the damages that her ‘artsy’ photo shoot had caused her.

And mothers really have a reason to worry about. Miley has been doing fine in protecting her image. And she was doing exceptionally well. Her fan base ranges from preschoolers to the moms.

Miley can’t afford to lose the stardom just because of photos revealing her bare shoulders and back. The shoot was actually approved and supervised by Miley’s parents. The Vanity Fair photos shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz may be done in good taste. But it was released at an inappropriate time.

Before this controversy, there are sexy pictures of Miley proliferating the cyberspace. And even before she could come up with excusable lines for those, here comes her bare back to make the matters worse.

But we have to understand that Miley Cyrus is growing up. And she’s got to realize that she can’t always get the best of both worlds. She is only 15. The magazine photos, no matter how good they were taken, still evoke one feeling. Those were so un-Miley.

Of course, she has to grow and show people that she can also captivate the more mature audiences. But now isn’t just the right time. In showbiz, you have to learn some things from Britney.

First, you can lose fame as fast as how you got it. Second, maturity doesn’t come with age. And third, it’s hard to come back the moment you’ve done everything to ruin your own reputation.

But this is just a grain of salt for Miley. This won’t ruin her. Although some moms may erase her name from the must-watch list, it won’t affect the many others who still adore her. But she should be very careful from now on.

So, moms, what do you say? She’s still in, eh? But her parents must also be in for some questioning. Talk about making bad decisions.

You're right - she already had some questionable pics on her myspace page - even before the Annie Leibovitz pics were taken

I think some of these kids (and their parents) get so much attention, stardom and money so quickly and they are just not prepared to handle it. Her Dad should know better since he has been in the lime light himself.

With the media coverage on celebrities nowadays, you simply cannot afford the slightest mis-step or controversy (especially when you are that young and relying on that younger audience to get you where you need to go).
Nice post!
